FAQs

Find answers to Common Questions.

Who are the awards for?

The awards are open to everyone from across the global sport and sustainability sector and those working around it. Look at the category information for who should apply for each. Some awards are specifically for sports organisations, others are open to all. If you have any questions, email info@sportpositivesummit.com.

Can I enter myself or my own organisation/project?

Yes.
To submit a great entry you will need to provide a lot of background information, impact data and evidence, we therefore expect that most entries will be made by the individuals and organisations themselves.

Can I nominate someone else?

Yes, you can enter on behalf of others.

Please bear in mind that you will be required to provide a lot of background information, impact data and evidence and will need to have permission from the person/organisation you are nominating. You will also need to make payment for the entry/entries.

We represent clients that we’d like to enter, can we complete entries on their behalf?

Yes, you can enter on behalf of clients you represent.

Please bear in mind that you will be required to provide a lot of background information, impact data and evidence and will need to have permission from the clients you are nominating. You will also need to make payment for the entry/entries.

Can we enter multiple categories?

Yes.

Organisations are welcome to enter multiple categories, if they are highly relevant to your work. Based on feedback to date, we have been advised of a demand for organisations looking to enter up to four categories, so we have discounted additional entries based on that. If you would like to enter more than four categories, please email info@sportpositivesummit.com.

Are the Sport Positive Awards instead of BBC Green Sport Awards, in partnership with Sport Positive?

No. The Sport Positive Awards 2024 are complementary to the BBC Green Sport Awards and cover a variety of different categories. Sport Positive Awards 2024 are open for all to nominate themselves, rather than the shortlist being chosen by a shortlisting panel. Sport Positive continues to partner with BBC Sport on BBC Green Sport Awards. BBC Sport have shared the below:

BBC Sport is pleased to confirm that the 3rd  edition of the Green Sport Awards will take place in October, in partnership with the Sport Positive Summit. They will once again celebrate the positive stories of sport’s green champions to BBC audiences on Radio, TV and Online as well as at a celebration event in the BBC Radio Theatre, New Broadcasting house on the evening of Monday 7th  October. Sport Positive Awards 2024 will take place on the evening of Tuesday, 8th October.

When do nominations open?

Nominations will open end of April/beginning of May 2024, and will be open for 6 weeks. If you haven’t already, register your interest here to make sure you get the notification that nominations are open, and other important information, right to your inbox.

If we share confidential information as evidence of what we have achieved, will this be secure?

All staff members of Sport Positive have a non-disclosure agreement for any information they come into contact with. Judges have been advised that if confidential information is shared by entrants to prove the impact or reach of their entry, they may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. If you are concerned about this, email info@sportpositivesummit.com

How will you ensure fairness of judging and avoid conflicts of interest?

Our judges have agreed to a substantive code of conduct. You will notice that we will have a large judging panel, but each individual judge will only judge a few of the total categories. As our global community is heavily connected, it might be the case that the organisation that a judge works for, nominates themselves for an award. The judge will never be assigned to any category where there is a conflict of interest; which means working for or with a nominated organisation now or previously. Judges have a duty of care to declare any conflicts of interest.

How much does it cost to enter?
  1. Entering one category is £75 + VAT (£90)

Discounts are offered for additional entries:

2. Enter two categories and receive 25% off your second entry: £157.50 (£131.25 + VAT)

3. Enter three categories and receive 40% off your second and third entries: £198 (£165 + VAT)

4.Enter three categories and receive 50% off your second, third and fourth entries: £225 (£187.50 + VAT)

We understand that individuals and organisations outside of the EU will be unable to reclaim VAT but unfortunately as a UK-based Awards, we are bound to charge it. We have taken this into account in the pricing, to ensure it is still accessible for organisations and individuals, even without being able to reclaim VAT.

*As with everything we do at Sport Positive, we work to ensure inclusivity and make barriers to entry as low as possible. However, we must also ensure the sustainability of our organisation, integrity of our processes and value of our work. If you have a great project that deserves to be seen but genuinely don’t have the nominal fee to enter, please email info@sportpositivesummit.com.

When is the awards evening and what does it include?

7.30pm – 10pm on Tuesday 8th October 2024, Kia Oval, London.

This is not your usual awards ceremony. There will be no formal dress code or sit-down meal where you sit silently next to people you already know, listening to shortlists and winners being read out for hours. Sport Positive Awards is about fun, celebrating the brightest talent, having time to socialise with global colleagues in a relaxed environment, whilst enjoying entertainment, food and drink. From 7.30pm you’ll enjoy drinks (welcome drinks included in your ticket price) and a plant-based buffet, entertainment, hear about and celebrate the award winners and then continue networking discussions or let loose and have a dance. We will not only be awarding winners but rewarding everyone for another year of incredibly hard work within the sport and sustainability sector globally.

Are tickets available to purchase?

Yes.

Tickets are available to purchase now. Awards tickets are also available as a bundle with the Sport Positive Summit (8th and 9th October, Kia Oval, London). Click here for details and to register.

Can I enter in a different format?

If you are unable submit your entry within the online form, please email info@sportpositivesummit.com and a member of the team will do their best to assist you.
