FAQs

Find answers to Common Questions.

Who are the awards for?

The awards are open to everyone from across the global sport and sustainability sector and those working around it. Look at the category information for who should apply for each. Some awards are specifically for sports organisations, others are open to all. If you have any questions, email [email protected].

Can I enter myself or my own organisation/project?

Yes.
To submit a great entry you will need to provide a lot of background information, impact data and evidence, we therefore expect that most entries will be made by the individuals and organisations themselves.

Can I nominate someone else?

Yes, you can enter on behalf of others.

Please bear in mind that you will be required to provide a lot of background information, impact data and evidence and will need to have permission from the person/organisation you are nominating. You will also need to make payment for the entry/entries.

We represent clients that we’d like to enter, can we complete entries on their behalf?

Yes, you can enter on behalf of clients you represent.

Please bear in mind that you will be required to provide a lot of background information, impact data and evidence and will need to have permission from the clients you are nominating. You will also need to make payment for the entry/entries.

Can we enter multiple categories?

Yes.

Organisations are welcome to enter multiple categories, if they are highly relevant to your work. Based on feedback to date, we have been advised of a demand for organisations looking to enter up to four categories, so we have discounted additional entries based on that. If you would like to enter more than four categories, please email [email protected].

Are the Sport Positive Awards instead of BBC Green Sport Awards, in partnership with Sport Positive?

No. The Sport Positive Awards are complementary to the BBC Green Sport Awards and cover a variety of different categories. Sport Positive Awards are open for all to nominate themselves, rather than the shortlist being chosen by a shortlisting panel. Sport Positive continues to partner with BBC Sport on BBC Green Sport Awards. BBC Sport have shared the below:

When do nominations open?

Nominations will open end of April/beginning of May 2025, and will be open for 6 weeks. If you haven’t already, register your interest here to make sure you get the notification that nominations are open, and other important information, right to your inbox.

If we share confidential information as evidence of what we have achieved, will this be secure?

All staff members of Sport Positive have a non-disclosure agreement for any information they come into contact with. Judges have been advised that if confidential information is shared by entrants to prove the impact or reach of their entry, they may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. If you are concerned about this, email [email protected]

How will you ensure fairness of judging and avoid conflicts of interest?

Our judges have agreed to a substantive code of conduct. You will notice that we will have a large judging panel, but each individual judge will only judge a few of the total categories. As our global community is heavily connected, it might be the case that the organisation that a judge works for, nominates themselves for an award. The judge will never be assigned to any category where there is a conflict of interest; which means working for or with a nominated organisation now or previously. Judges have a duty of care to declare any conflicts of interest.

Why are you charging an entry fee?
As with everything we do at Sport Positive, we work to ensure inclusivity and make barriers to entry as low as possible. However, we must also ensure the sustainability of our organisation, integrity of our processes and value of our work. If you have a great project but genuinely don’t have the nominal fee to enter, please email [email protected].
Can I enter in a different format?

If you are unable submit your entry within the online form, please email [email protected] and a member of the team will do their best to assist you.
