Yorkshire Sport Foundation: Leeds kit exchange wins sustainability award

Leeds Equipment and Kit Exchange Partnership (LEKEP) took the honours in Sport Positive Awards 2024.

LEKEP won the Purpose-led Partnership category for those working on sustainability issues.

The awards celebrate and raise awareness of people and organisations using the power of sport to tackle the biggest issues of our time.

Leeds Equipment and Kit Exchange Partnership

The city-wide partnership for kit exchange brings together organisations like Zero Waste Leeds and Action For Sport with professional sports organisations like Leeds United Foundation and Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. The aim is to tackle inequalities in priority neighbourhoods and stopping the price of sports kit being a barrier to enjoying physical activity. The project works with residents to move towards net zero ambitions. wellbeing outcomes and inclusive growth.
