Francs Jeux: World Rowing nominated for Sport Positive Awards

World Rowing is among 100 organizations and individuals shortlisted for the Sport Positive Awards 2025, which reward sports stakeholders involved in sustainability, climate action, biodiversity and environmental justice. The IF is selected in the “Biodiversity Project” category for its project “In Balance With Nature: Trakai 2025 World Rowing Under 19 Championships”. This initiative, presented in early August, integrates biodiversity assessment and measurements directly into the planning and running of a sporting event major international.

« As a former rower, who spent a lot of time on the water and in her natural environment, working on this important project made me feel give back to nature what it has given me, explains Maike Betts, Development and Sustainability Coordinator at World Rowing. I am proud to work at World Rowing, where sustainability is at the heart of our daily activities aimed at protect and restore the ecosystems on which we depend so much for our sport. »

Seven other projects were selected in this category. World Rowing’s competitors include the Miami Heat NBA franchise and football clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Stuttgart. The winners will be announced on the sidelines of the event. Sport Positive Summit in London, October 7.
