FIM: FIM Sustainability Report shortlisted in prestigious Sport Positive Awards 2026

The FIM has been shortlisted in the prestigious Sport Positive Awards 2026 in recognition of its ongoing work to promote sustainability in motorcycle sport.

Published strategically in June at the beginning of this year’s FIM Sustainability Week, the FIM Sustainability Report 2025 – that helps to evaluate the FIM’s current status and determine necessary future actions – has been shortlisted in the Report of the Year category alongside reports from ten other global organisations that include the European Football Clubs Sustainability Report 2024/25; NASCAR Impact Report 2025; The Red Way Report 2026: Liverpool Football Club; Sport Lisboa e Benfica Sustainability Report (2024/25) and the Union Cycliste Internationale Sustainability Report amongst others.
 
Recognising the growing importance of sustainability within the worldwide sports community, Sport Positive Awards 2026 is the third edition of a global industry awards that celebrates, uplifts, inspires and raises awareness of the people and organisations working in and around sport that enable game-changing activities to ensure sustainable business, climate action, biodiversity and environmental justice.
 
Just to be shortlisted is regarded as a significant achievement and recognition of the collective effort across the FIM to promote sustainable practices that are at the heart of the FIM’s strategy and governance.
 
For over thirty years the FIM has aimed to make motorcycle sport more sustainable and the FIM Sustainability Report 2025 – that reflects the commitment of the entire organisation and its stakeholders to embed sustainability across all areas of activity – details several important initiatives, overseen by the FIM International Sustainability Commission with efforts from all areas of the FIM.

These including the continued growth of the KiSS (Keep it Shiny and Sustainable) Programme and the submission of the FIM Climate Strategy white paper plus the executive summary to the FIM Strategic Committee. Education remained central through the FIM Academy while the FIM Women Commission continued to translate its Equal Gender Opportunities Recommendations into practical action.
 
Emphasising the important role of promoters, organisers, the National Federations and Continental Unions in delivering sustainability, the report also highlights the work of the FIM Touring and Leisure Commission. The report also reinforces the work of the Technical Commission in sound level reduction, the research and advocacy relating to the use of new fuels plus the mitigating measures applied in the operation of the FIM headquarters.

In shortlisting the report, Sport Positive described it as ‘more than a report – it is a catalyst for change, demonstrating how motorcycling can evolve and contribute to a more sustainable future’.
 
By openly sharing its progress, challenges and learnings, the FIM aims to inspire and support positive change across sport and motorsport and would like to thank its stewards, FIM Directors, coordinators, staff, promotors, Continental Unions, National Federations and Touchline Earth for making this possible.
